Pitapwa F. Vokito Visits Islamic School in Tafare, Jimeta/Yola
Pitapwa F. Vokito paid a humanitarian visit to an Islamic school with over 200 students at Tafare, Nepa, Jimeta/Yola.
“Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.”
— Isaiah 58:7
This act of kindness reflects something Mr. Pitapwa Vokito finds easy and natural to do. It will be recalled that on several occasions, he has extended support to the less privileged in society, demonstrating a consistent commitment to humanitarian service.
We understand that one of the most basic needs of the homeless and vulnerable is access to food and a safe place to rest. Without stable shelter, proper meals, clean water, and basic facilities such as laundry and hygiene, it becomes nearly impossible for individuals living in hardship to break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness.
In his effort to combat hunger, support the less privileged, and strengthen his connection with people at the grassroots, Pitapwa Vokito organized a free iftaar for the students of Mallam Moh’d Gidado Markaaz at Tafare/Nepa.
Volunteering to help the underprivileged restores hope to those in need and reminds them that they are seen, valued, and loved. Supporting the neglected members of society also contributes to national security, as prolonged neglect can lead to frustration and social unrest.
Speaking during the event, the school’s teacher, Mallam Mohd Gidado, expressed deep appreciation for the philanthropic gesture. He called on other well-meaning individuals to emulate Mr. Vokito, noting that assisting others attracts grace, protection, and upliftment—not only for individuals but for society as a whole.
Some of the students also shared their heartfelt appreciation:
Auwal Muhammadu, a student from Maiduguri, expressed joy and gratitude for the support.
Hassan Haruna from Song Local Government said, “May God help and bless him, uplift him, and increase him in wisdom.”
Ahmadu Abubakar, who hails from Numan, also shared his excitement and appreciation for the gesture.
As a reminder, every individual deserves to be treated with dignity. While it is wise to remain observant, small acts of kindness—no matter how simple—can have tremendously positive and lasting impacts on the lives of others.
